Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 August 2026

This policy covers the crookedsignal.com website and the applications published by Crooked Signal. It is written to be accurate about what actually happens, rather than to cover every eventuality in advance.

Who this is

Crooked Signal is the independent development identity of Dejan Balaš, operating from Croatia. He is the controller of any personal data described here.

Contact for anything in this policy, including requests about your data: [email protected]. A postal address is available on request.

Information collected on this website

This website does not ask you to create an account and does not require you to identify yourself in order to read it.

The only information you can actively provide is what you type into the contact form.

One preference is stored in your browser: the language you chose, so the site does not keep switching back. It contains no identifier and is not used to track you.

The contact form

The contact form is not connected to any mail or form service. Nothing typed into it is transmitted, received or stored anywhere, and the form says so on the page itself. Use the email address instead.

The form includes a hidden field that is never shown to a person. It exists to catch automated submissions, and its contents are discarded.

If the form is connected later, this policy will be updated in the same release — naming the service that delivers the messages, where they are stored and for how long — before the form is able to send anything.

Analytics

This website runs no analytics, no tracking scripts and no advertising pixels. Nothing about your visit is measured or sent to a third party by this site.

This is a deliberate choice, not an oversight. If it ever changes, the tool will be named here and the date at the top of this page will change with it.

Cookies

This website sets no advertising or analytics cookies and does not profile you.

It sets one strictly functional cookie, and only if you choose a language yourself: it records that choice so you are not redirected away from it on the next visit. Under EU rules a preference you actively set does not require a consent banner, which is why there is not one.

Language and location

Visitors arriving from Croatia may be sent to the Croatian version of a page on their first visit. This uses the country the hosting provider derives from your network connection to route the request. No location is stored, and it is not linked to you.

Both language versions are always reachable directly, and the switch in the header overrides the routing at any time.

Application-specific data

This policy covers the website. Applications published by Crooked Signal each state their own data handling in their own store listing and in-app policy, because what an app collects depends entirely on what the app does. Read the policy that ships with the app you are using.

The general position applied to all of them: an app asks for the minimum it needs to work, keeps data on the device where that is possible, and does not require an account for features that do not need one.

Where an app uses your location, it is used to produce the result you asked for and is not part of any advertising profile.

Third-party services

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes the network requests needed to deliver the page to you, and may log them for security and abuse prevention under its own terms.

Email sent to [email protected] is forwarded by the domain’s email routing to a private mailbox. It is never stored on this website.

Nothing else is involved: no form provider, no analytics tool, no error tracker, no external fonts, scripts or images. Every request this page makes goes to its own domain.

Applications may use external data providers — for example, a public weather API to produce a forecast. Where that happens, it is stated in the relevant application’s own policy.

How long information is kept

Messages sent to [email protected] are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any work that follows from it.

Where nothing follows from an enquiry, the message is deleted no later than 24 months after the last contact. Correspondence tied to a contract is kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require, and no longer.

Access and deletion requests

You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being held. Email [email protected] and say what you want.

There is no charge for this, no account is needed to ask, and you will get an answer within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP, azop.hr) or to the supervisory authority in your own country.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than quietly edited in.
